WHO AM I?

Hi! My name is Seolhwa 雪花(설화). I'm a 23 year old living on primarily Muscogee, Choctaw, and Chickasaw land. I'm a slut for baked goods and I like to mess with computers. I'm autistic and have a lot of little special interests in rotation, but usually they involve worldbuilding or some piece of media. You can check out some of them on my shrines page!

WHAT IS THIS PAGE?

This page is a place for me to consolidate my interests and talk about things I care about. I'm also using it to help me move away from mainstream social media. I've been working on it over several iterations for a long time but this current revamp is coming as both twitter and tumblr are being destroyed by their CEOs.

HOW DO I USE COMPUTERS?

This is my beautiful girl Naomi. She's a thinkpad T530 running debian 12 that I eventually want to install coreboot on. My desktop setup uses Xmonad which is a window manager written in Haskell which is extremely versatile but a little convoluted at times. I generally try to keep my digital lifestyle as capitalism-free as possible, which means using mostly open source software and cutting out algorithmic content from big corporations. I previously used Invidious as a youtube front end and from there Piped, but Youtube basically declared war on all third party projects this year so I've been watching all the public instances slowly break and slip away. I also try to download all of my music instead of using apps like spotify which exploit artists, especially those who don't have a large following.
